Broadcasting from Abidjan, the Grand Bassam and Korhogo, Hammon aims to share every moment of the journey with the 5FM community.
This invitation aims to place 5FM at the heart of a high-level cultural and tourism mission that explores the cocoa value chain in San Pedro, the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace in Yamoussoukro, the Sénoufo craft workshops, and the coastlines, food, music and traditions of Côte d'Ivoire.
It aims to provide a rare opportunity for South Africans to experience the continent through the eyes of a storyteller who has already travelled thousands of kilometres across South Africa, as well as the rest of Africa, says 5FM.
As Africa Month celebrates unity, creativity and connection across the continent, this mission aims to give 5FM exclusive access to the people, places and ideas shaping West Africa right now. Live broadcasts will happen from various locations with conversations with mayors, producers, artisans and cultural leaders.
Masi Mdingane, Business Manager for 5FM and Good Hope FM, says this moment reflects the station's growing role in amplifying South African and African youth culture. "Wherever the energy of Africa is rising, you can be sure that 5FM is there. Nick's broadcast from Côte d'Ivoire is another chance for young South Africans to see themselves as part of a bigger continental story. We're proud to bring our listeners along on a journey that celebrates creativity, culture and connection across Africa."
From the cocoa fields of San Pedro to the craft villages of Korhogo, from seaside dinners to cultural immersions and city explorations, Hamman aims to capture the sounds, stories and spirit of Côte d'Ivoire for listeners back home, concludes 5FM.
