"If you are without a woman in your life, you can spoil one of our furry ladies instead," says Marcelle du Plessis, fundraising and communications manager at the clinic.

According to the animal clinic, its homeless dogs and cats have lived in their shelter for significant periods of time. By sponsoring a furry lady, individuals can help make their Women's month a happy one, says the team at the clinic.

The clinic has provided a variety of sponsoring options, including:
  • R50: Fleas and ticks treatment
  • R100: Vaccinations
  • R200: Food for two weeks
  • R450: Meals for a month, and
  • R500: Spay or neuter.
Donations made to will help the clinic to look after the animals until they are able to find permanent homes.

Individuals who would like to sponsor a pet for Women's Month are encouraged to visit the clinic's website to view the 'ladies'. They can additionally contact info@mdzananda.co.za or make a donation to Mdzananda Animal Clinic:

"We would also like to acknowledge our human ladies (and gents) who work daily and tirelessly to help the animals of Khayelitsha. They are often the forgotten ones, the ones no one wants to sponsor or hear about; but without them, there would be no help for the thousands of animals we see each month," says du Plessis.
